The Brick

The Bricklayer laid a brick on the bed of cement
Then, with a precise stroke of his trowel spread another layer
And without a by-your-leave, laid on another brick.
The foundations grew visibly.
The buildings rose, tall and strong, to shelter men.

I thought, Lord, of that brick buried in the darkness at the base of the big building.
No one sees it, but it accomplishes its task, and the other bricks need it.
Lord, what difference whether I am on the roof-top or in the foundations of your building, as long as I stand faithfully at the right place?

Jewellery/Cards

I have made some jewellery (mainly earrings) and cards which I plan to sell as a fundraiser. I have a few ideas of places to sell them but if anyone has ideas they would be much appreciated. Also if anyone else wants to make any, go for it!

Update from Mutinta in Zambia

Mutinta, who will be our Habitat contact in Zambia has sent us this information. I will publish link to the manual shortly.

Hi Johnny

Am excited that your team is looking forward to come to Zambia. I have attached our Global Village manual for Zambia. I hope it will give you more info about Zambia and also about HFH Zambia.

Getting back to your question, the weather is usually cool in August; it begins to be hot around Sept to October. Though it maybe a little hot during the day but it gets cooler in the night. No rain, so that is good.
I hope the manual will be of help.

In answer to the question a smartie tube holds approx $15 in 20p's. Apologies for the dollar sign. American computers don't have the pound sign!!

Fund raising Ideas

Tim - do you think a good quiz sheet to sell be a simple fundraising starter?
Joanne Bell has booked a disco at Shaftesbury Bowling Club in January and is organising a quiz.
